Your first day
Getting
Started
Welcome aboard! This guide gets you comfortable with where things live and ready to do actual work. Ten minutes to read — less if you're already clicking along.
The Control
Panel.
The first thing you see after signing in is the Control Panel. Think of it as the home screen of an app on your phone. Each square is a tile — a shortcut to one part of RadiYO!
People
Everyone in your contacts — listeners, members, staff.
Send Email
Send a message out to a list of people.
Memberships
Who's a paid member, and when they expire.
Shows
Your on-air schedule.
Live Reads
On-air announcements — CSAs, ads, promos.
Phone Log
Messages taken at the front desk.
...plus a few more, depending on what your station uses. Click any tile to jump in, and click the RadiYO! logo at the top of the sidebar to come back home. Below the tiles you'll find at-a-glance info — today's birthdays, membership expiries, recent donations and recent activity — all updating automatically.
The sidebar —
your main menu.
Down the left of every page is the sidebar. It lets you jump anywhere in RadiYO!, grouped by what you're trying to do:
- People — everyone you know about; companies; memberships
- Dollars — cash donations, in-kind donations, KUDOS! (good deeds)
- On-Air — campaigns, events, competitions, shows, live reads
- Front Desk — phone messages, lists & exports, sending email
- Stats & Stuff — the map and the reports
- Admin — importing people, settings
Click a section heading to fold it away, and again to open it. RadiYO! remembers what you've folded, so the sidebar stays just how you like it.
A greyed-out menu item just means your account doesn't have access to that section. That's normal — ask a manager if you think you need it.
The top bar.
The strip across the top of every page has a few small but important things:
New
Quickly add a Person, Company, In-Kind Donation or Phone Message from anywhere.
On Air
Shows when a program is live, so the whole office knows who's behind the mic.
Weather
The weather report for your station's location. Click it for a 3-day forecast you can share with listeners.
Your name
Click your name or avatar to open your own profile.
Messages
Phone messages left for you. A red dot means something's unread.
Help
This screen, the Quick Start Guide, and all the things.
Make the Control Panel
your own.
Rearrange the tiles so the things you use most are easiest to reach. Everyone's layout is saved separately, so yours won't change anyone else's.
- On the Control Panel, click the small Edit button just below the tiles.
- The tiles start wiggling, like editing app icons on a phone. Now you can drag a tile to a new spot, remove one with the red ×, or add one with the dashed + square.
- Click Done when you're finished. Your changes save automatically.
You can have up to eight tiles. Removing one doesn't delete anything — it's all still in the sidebar.
Your own
profile.
You exist in RadiYO! as a contact, just like everyone else. Take a minute on day one to check yours is right:
- Click your name in the top-right of any page.
- Check your phone number and email.
- Announcer? Check your On-air name is the one you want listeners to hear.
- Click Save at the bottom of any section you change.
Signing
out.
At the end of your shift, click Sign out in the top-right. It matters most on a shared computer at the station — otherwise the next person to sit down is signed in as you!
When you
get stuck.
- Open Help & Guides from the ? icon in the top-right, or the Help tile on the Control Panel, and pick a guide.
- In the Help dropdown, This screen opens a page about whichever screen you're looking at — usually the fastest way to get unstuck.
- Ask a teammate. Someone will know the trick!
